Haiti
Earthquake--Let Down Your Nets!

The bible clearly states the will of God in both the new and
old testaments regarding people: they are created in His image
and He loves them. Christians should always be quick to help
those in need.
St. Francis of Assisi said "Preach
the gospel at all times, and sometimes use words. The
world will know we are Christians by our love for Christ and
one another.
Jesus never condemns people, only helps, invites, and loves
them. These bible verses state we are still in the age
of grace waiting for everyone to make their decision for or
against God. There is a clash of two kingdoms in the earthly
realm, the kingdom of God, and the kingdom of Satan.
Death and destruction bring God no pleasure. He wants everyone
to return to Him and be conformed into the image of His son,
Jesus.
This is clearly shown in Ezekiel and 2 peter
3:9.
"For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,
says the Lord GOD. Return and live!" Ezekiel 18:32.
NAB
"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as
some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not
willing that any should perish but that all should come to
repentance." 2 Peter 3:9
The battle today is not just about a devastating earthquake,
which for a moment in time, focuses worldwide attention on
Haiti. It is a life and death struggle for every individual
life, which also includes an eternal soul.
What of those who say destruction is coming on Haiti because
of their sin? In the bible disciples of Christ: James, and
John, wanted to destroy those who would not repent. What did
Jesus say about this attitude of heart?
"And when His disciples James and John saw this, they
said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down
from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did? "But He
turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what
manner of spirit you are of. "For the Son of Man did not
come to destroy men’s lives but to save them." Luke
9:52
Christians are called to be comforters to those who are
bruised and broken-hearted telling the hurting that God has
not forsake them.
Pray
with me that Haitian citizens will Stop, Look, Listen,
Respond, and Repent of leaving Jesus out of their lives.
Pray
that American's Churches will see these dear people as souls
to preach the gospel through words and deeds.
Pray that
we as Christians are Ambassadors who give generously to those
who are hurting.
May the
"true" character of Christ be demonstrated to all
those who are hurting as we face yet another tragedy in our
hurting world.
And remember, God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn
it; but to save all who call upon His name.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have everlasting life. “ For God did not send His Son
into the world to condemn the world, but that the world
through Him might be saved." He who believes in Him is
not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned
already, because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God. "And this is the condemnation, that
the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness
rather than light, because their deeds were evil." John
3:16-20.
