The
question of what is the prime reality: or to put it
simply--does God exist has been answered by many people. But
what about you? Can reason and faith go together?
Yes, they can. Do you know that everyone has a worldview
whether they thought about it in these terms or not.
Ancient and modern cultures developed around the answer to
this questions.
People
have always asked this question: "What is the thing from
which everything comes from?"
My
family and I are watching a wonderful video from Dr. Stephen
C. Meyer that helps wrestle with the different kinds of
reasoning in the scientific community, both past and present,
and how different worldviews have affected the scientific
community's presentation of observation and facts.
We
found out that looking at the evidence of nature and
experience we find that different worldviews will affect the
end evaluation. Science is not just fact and logic, it is also
the science of reason and intellect. Do you reason
from the viewpoint of classical theism, deism, pantheism, or
naturalism/materialism? And from what viewpoint are the
scientists you are listening to examining the evidence before
them? We know that Richard Dawkins is an atheist, yet
when pressed in the movie, "Expelled", he said that
he too believed in intelligent design, but his faith compelled
him to believe that aliens seeded our earth and it was from
their intelligent design that the rest of us sprang
forth. His world view colors everything he observes as
scientific fact because evolution comes from the worldview of
naturalism, sometimes called materialism.
We
need to examine the new scientific evidence coming forth in
the last decade to understand why Christians believe what we
do about God and the universe. There are too many
scientific facts and effects that could be explained in a
number of different ways and we need to evaluate each one of
those hypothesis to see which one best explains the
evidence. We have enjoyed the presentation of the video
we are watching by Dr. Meyer. If you are interest in
hearing his debates you can go to these media channel. I
suggest you buy his book, we are going to read it. And
if you would like to review the notes we have been taking go
