Biblical Prayers for our Children

©by Kathy Black

Every Morning

Protect, defend and keep our children safe today.  We declare that any curses, edits, or words that are contrary to your will are unable to touch our children today.  We declare they are removed by the blood of your Son, Jesus.  We declare they are blessed with all blessings and favor because of what Christ has done for them.  We declare that they are protected from arrows that fly against them in the spiritual realm, from pestilence that walks in darkness, and from the destruction at noon day.  Psalm 91 and Deut.28:12

SUNDAY

  1. As you promise in your word Lord, circumcise my heart and the heart of my descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that we may live. Deut: 30:5.

  2. Lord we ask that our children receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For this promise is to me and to my children, …all who have been called by the Lord our God.  Acts 2:38
  3. I declare my children are those spoken of by the prophets, and as children of the promise, God wants to bless them by turning each of them back from our sinful ways.”  Acts 3:24
  4. My children have no obligation whatsoever to do what their sinful nature urges them to do.  I pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to turn their flesh from evil deeds, so they will live. I declare that, as children of God they are led by the Spirit of God... Romans 8:12
  5. I declare they are not like cowering, fearful slaves. I declare they will behave instead like God’s very own children, adopted into his family—calling him “Father, dear Father.” I declare that God’s Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God’s children.
  6. Since they are his children, they will share his treasures—for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is theirs, too.  Romans 8:12
  7. It is the children of the promise who are considered to be Abraham’s children.  Romans 9:4

  3. God has sent the Spirit of his Son into their hearts, and now they can call God their dear Father. They are no longer slaves but God’s own child. And since they are his children, everything he has belongs to them.  Galatians 4:1
  4. By God’s special favor and mighty power, let them be given the wonderful privilege of serving Christ by spreading the Good News.  Ephesians 3:6
  5. Let them no longer be like children, forever changing their minds about what they believe because someone has told them something different or because someone has cleverly lied to them and made the lie sound like the truth.  I declare they will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
