A Prayer for our Soldiers in Iraq ©by Kathy Black
Dear God: Let America's soldiers bless God as their rock, Teach their hands to war, their fingers to fight; Be to each one their mercy and fortress, Their High Tower and their Deliverer, their Shield and the ONE in whom they trust,
Dear God subdue the enemy under them! Stretch out your hands from above; Rescue our soldiers Under gird their families and keep them safe Deliver them out of great waters, from the hand of aliens, whose mouths speak vanity, and whose right hand is
a hand of falsehood.
Let the enemy seek our soldiers and not find them —all those that contend with You! All that war against You (and Your Holy word) We petition you to give our enemies every chance to turn from the wickedness of their ways.
Redeem America's soldiers from the power of the sword. Give them the shield of your salvation and hold them up by your right hand. Let them know of your gentleness.
If a host encamps against these soldiers, Together we declare that they shall not fear; When war rises against them, Let them all be hidden in God's pavilion; He will keep them concealed He will set them high upon a rock.
And now shall their heads be lifted up Above their enemies round about them and they will offer sacrifices of shouts of joy: Yes, they will sing songs to God. For Jehovah, their God, Will hold their right hand, saying unto them, Fear not; I will help you!
We remind you Lord that These soldiers are not at war At their own charge but at the charge of our government and for the families in America Who can worship You Freely in our nation Help them bring forth liberty, Mercy, and do good for the people of Iraq.
Enable people to have the freedom to choose whether to serve Jehovah, the only true God, or a false god of terror and hate Many are bound captive by this false god, only free their minds, their hearts, and help them to desire peace in their land.
Lord of Hosts, we call on you to make this war to cease Break the bow and cut the spear in two of our enemies Take up our soldiers charge today and keep them safe. We trust in your hand alone-- Oh Lord to deliver them In Jesus' Name we Pray. Amen
